See what's happening behind you. The Varia RTL516 radar provides visual and audible alerts to warn you of vehicles approaching from up to 140 meters behind. This way, you can see what’s happening behind you while riding.
Edge/Smartphone compatible. The smart and compact radar can be paired with the Edge bike computer or a compatible smartphone, as well as with certain Garmin wearables or the optional radar display unit.
Compatible with the Varia app. With the smartphone app, you will receive alerts directly on your phone. This is facilitated by graphical representations, as well as sound and vibration alerts indicating the position and speed of approaching cars.
Compatible with third-party apps. When used with a compatible smartphone, the Varia radar integrates with your favorite apps to overlay maps with radar alerts.
Excellent visibility from afar. Good visibility thanks to 5 lumens of brightness. This ensures you are safe on rural roads as well.

... The light itself is not overly bright, but it is amplified via a lens. The intensity can be controlled via the bike computer. There is also an automatic mode in which the rear light adjusts its brightness to the ambient light. There is a small red light in each side to ensure visibility across the direction of travel.
