Shaving the face is an essential part of every man's personal hygiene - and has been for more than 20,000 years, as can be proved by cave paintings. Whereas our Stone Age forefathers still had to trim their hair with suitable stones or shell edges and probably considered shaving to be not only a lengthy but also a very painful affair, things are completely different today: in the meantime, electric razors have advanced to become a matter of course in this country. The first models were already developed at the end of the 19th century, but they were anything but precise and regularly cut into the tissue during shaving. The manufacturers of modern electric shavers, however, now advertise that they shave quickly and accurately and, on top of that, are gentle on the skin; no matter what kind of beard splendour is to be tackled with them. Of course, this also applies to the six models that ETM TESTMAGAZIN tested this time. We had our testers extensively test what the shavers really do over several months!
