Square Enix Final Fantasy XVI

An epic dark fantasy world where the fate of the land is decided by the powerful Eikons and the Dominants who rule them.

This is the story of Clive Rosfield, a warrior who has been given the title of "First Shield of Rosaria" and sworn to protect his younger brother Joshua, the Dominator of the Phoenix. Soon Clive becomes embroiled in a great tragedy and vows revenge on the dark Eikon Ifrit, a mysterious being who brings disaster upon him.

The sun is setting over the land of Valisthea. For centuries, people have flocked to their Mother Crystals to partake of their blessings - the rich Aether that nurtures the magic they rely on in their daily lives. But as the Aether begins to dwindle and the lifeless Deadlands spread ever wider, the battle for the last flickers of the Mothers' light also grows fiercer. Bloody battles rage across the realm, and rival races send their ultimate weapons against each other: the Dominants. Men and women in whom the world-shaking power of an eikon slumbers.

There are few in Valisthea whose lives have not been touched by this war for the blessing of the crystals, and Clive Rosfield, the firstborn son of the Archduke of Rosaria, is no exception. Unlike most, however, the vicissitudes of fate reveal to him the dark truth that lies at the heart of his world, and lead him on a mission to destroy the very Mother Crystals that are sacred to the rest of the realm.

The legacy of the crystals has shaped the destiny of humanity long enough.
