With four microphones in each ear cup, these headphones represent the biggest advancement in noise cancelling to date. Ambient sounds are captured with even greater precision, significantly reducing high-frequency noises. The Auto NC Optimizer automatically adjusts the noise cancelling based on fit and environmental factors such as air pressure. The integrated V1 processor, specially developed by Sony, fully harnesses the potential of the QN1 HD processor for noise cancelling. This unique combination of technologies accurately controls eight microphones to deliver the previously unmatched quality in noise cancelling that the 1000X series is known for. The precision-engineered 30mm driver unit of the WH-1000XM5, featuring a soft TPU edge (thermoplastic polyurethane), enhances noise cancelling specifically in low-frequency ranges. This allows you to enjoy your music without being disturbed by ambient sounds. The lightweight, rigid driver ensures clear sound and improved bass reproduction.

The IMTEST comparison test shows that although more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better, the red pencil is clearly noticeable, especially with a very affordable model like the Soundcore Space Q45. There is a lack of sound quality, but savings are also noticeable in the microphones and ANC...
Modern over-ear headphones are good sound all-rounders. The Technics EAH-A800 won the test thanks to their long battery life, great sound and a powerful app. The solid Space One from Soundcore deliver a lot of headphones for little money.
Sony's WH-1000XM5 noise-cancelling headphones impress in the practical test with phenomenal active noise cancellation. Compared to the already very good predecessor, the technology takes another significant step forward and reduces ambient noise of any kind to a whisper. The wearing comfort is also great; we were able to wear the headphones for many hours in the test without any complaints...
... Compared to the predecessor, the other person's voice is more voluminous, so the headphones are also well suited for video conferencing. With ANC activated, we achieved a runtime of around 33 hours at medium volume; if you use the headphones a lot on the phone, they will break down more quickly...
