As already mentioned, the DPR-39 doesn't come with a loudspeaker. In this size range, the Sony XDR-P1, for example, would have both headphones and loudspeaker. Note that the DPR-39 comes with headphones, not the Sony XDR-P1. On the other hand, the DPR-39 has the great advantage of using 2 AA batteries, which can be either alkaline or rechargeable.
