Product details
The large-diameter Z bayonet and large 24.5 MP full-frame sensor ensure low-noise images with the highest detail across the exceptionally wide ISO range. With a lens speed of 1:2, low-light autofocus now works down to -6 EV.
Photos are possible at 14 fps with full autofocus tracking and with auto exposure adjustments. Shoot up to 200 full-resolution JPEG images or 124 uncompressed 12-bit RAW images in a single burst.
Dual processors double the available power - from autofocus to buffer capacity. Conversion is silky smooth, for filming as well as shooting.
Implement workflows of any kind. You can use UHS-II SD cards in one compartment and XQD or state-of-the-art ultra-fast CFexpress cards in the other.
Capture video sharper and clearer - with greater dynamic range. Eye AF for people, dogs and cats is available when shooting movies. And movie recordings can be output to external devices if required.
The super-sturdy and lightweight construction of this camera is made of magnesium alloy. The camera is easy to carry and durable enough to be used in any location. It is fully sealed to protect against dust, dirt and moisture.
Enjoy the cinematic depth of field that can be achieved with the wide range of fast-focusing and compact NIKKOR-Z lenses.
You can also use external flashes at high frame rates of up to 14 fps. The FTZ bayonet adapter provides compatibility with over 300 NIKKOR lenses with F bayonet. A complete overview of lens compatibilities on the Nikon websites.
Nikon's SnapBridge app lets you update your camera's firmware via a smart device.

At Nikon, we can recommend both the 24 MP full-frame camera Z 6II (just under 2000 euros) and the 46 MP variant Z 7II (approx. 3300 euros). The former has the better high-ISO performance and the faster continuous mode, the latter the higher resolution. Otherwise, the differences are small...
- Excellent picture quality
- Integrated 5-axis image stabiliser
- Dust and splash-proof housing with tiltable monitor, shoulder display and high-resolution OLED viewfinder
- Superb handling
- Dual SD card slot
- Monitor not rotatable and tiltable
- The Z 6II is a high quality camera that is extremely fast thanks to the new dual processor. The image quality is excellent and the handling is simple and intuitive.
- The camera unfortunately lacks a small built-in fill-in flash that would be mounted on the viewfinder hump. Unfortunately, the LC display of the Z 6II cannot be tilted to the side or forward.
Nikon is continuing the Z series with an unusual decision. The two new introductions, the Z 6II and Z 7II, are offered parallel to the two previous "predecessors". However, the additions to the new Z 6II are not only extensive, but in any case an enrichment and clear improvement of the camera, for which the buy recommendation thus applies...
Very good weatherproof system camera. For the highest demands. With very good electronic viewfinder, very large image converter and network function. Top mark in the eye test. Very good monitor that can be folded (by 160 degrees), very fast camera, basic operations work easily, many extras and functions. Disadvantage: very expensive.
- Very good reproduction of even the finest image details
- Excellent image quality and detail reproduction up to ISO 3,200
- Still quite good image quality at ISO 12,800
- ISO 25,600 can be used with some restrictions depending on the situation
- Very high-quality and robust magnesium housing with ergonomically shaped handle
- The camera is protected against dust and dripping water
- Robust, splash-proof, high-quality manufactured housing
- Large, responsive and high-resolution electronic viewfinder
- Very good image quality up to ISO 6,400
- High speed (autofocus, storage time, continuous shooting)
- Effective sensor shift image stabiliser
- Wretchedly slow data transfer via USB 3 interface
