Product details
The extra large diameter of the Nikon-Z bayonet allows the NIKKOR-Z lenses to capture more light at any angle of the image field. This, in combination with the small back focal distance (the distance between the bayonet connection and the image sensor), ensures a minimal light fall-off from the centre of the image to the edges. The result is unbelievable attention to detail - right down to the corners of the image.
With its outstanding resolution, this lens faithfully reproduces every detail of your subject. Get more detail and colour fidelity - right up to the edges of the image field and even with an open aperture.
Punctual light sources in the subject, such as nocturnal street lamps, are reproduced with superior precision because the sagittal coma has been almost completely corrected. Point light sources are displayed as naturally round dots, also at the edges of the image.
Two ED glass lenses and three aspherical lenses contribute to crisp, brilliant images with rich colours and clear contrast. Vignetting (the drop in light from the centre of the image to the edges) is almost completely eliminated - for uniform brightness right into the corners of the image.
Even in backlit situations, Nikon Nanocrystal Coating provides brilliant, clear images thanks to a highly effective reduction of reflections, ghosting and stray light. Even when shooting with several light sources in the image field, this means a significantly higher image quality.
