Record auction - but we also have the 135 million Mercedes for less in the store

A Mercedes 300 SLR sports car has officially been the most expensive car in the world for a few days. At an auction, the car found a new owner for 135 million euros. It's cheaper at Galaxus.
Already at the beginning of the month, the auction of Sotheby's and Mercedes-Benz took place in camera, the company now announced. Who is the new owner of the silver sports car, however, remains secret. Only about the auction the company reveals something. It took place in the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. The building was closed for one day especially for this reason. The "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" has information that the group of bidders was hand-picked and included "industrialists from other European countries". One bidder was on site, the others were connected.
There are only two examples of the silver sports car, built in 1955, in the world. The 300 SLR was designed by Mercedes engineer Rudolf Uhlenhaut and is therefore also known as the "Uhlenhaut coupe." It was designed for one racing season, but was never used. The second example remains in the possession of Mercedes and continues to be exhibited in the Stuttgart museum.
If you also want to own a 300 SLR or at least the SL variant, but missed the auction date - here's your chance. And you can also get away cheaper.

Until now, a Ferrari was the most expensive car in the world. A 250 GTO was auctioned off for 48 million dollars in 2018. At 135 million euros, Mercedes is now clearly beating the Italian. Incidentally, the carmaker is not putting the money in its own pocket, but is giving it to a fund to support 1000 students and schoolchildren who want to implement projects in the field of environmental protection and sustainability.
If you buy your model SLR from us, you are simply supporting the Digitec Galaxus team. But we are already a bit further ahead than Mercedes when it comes to sustainability.
