If you are looking for an alternative to classic ceiling lamps, floor lamps or cable systems, the "Linion" and "ULine" products could be something for you. With these modular systems, you can realise your ideas for room lighting.

You can combine the elements of the two lighting systems from Paulmann as you wish. Starting from a basic set, you can implement your own lighting concept with complete freedom.

Light channel system «Linion»

The 24-volt light channel system «Linion» includes components of different lengths (50, 100, 150 centimetres) and shapes. If you combine the straight channels with the 90-degree corner pieces or curves, you can create customised light shapes. The system is designed in such a way that there are no visible joints.

You can choose between aluminium, black or matt chrome for the channels.

Variants for the power supply

There are two basic options available for the power supply: the «Power Channel» and the «Power Box».

  • The «Power Channel» integrates the transformer directly into the luminaire element and thus enables an invisible power connection directly at the ceiling outlet.
  • The «Power Box», on the other hand, is suitable for offset power outlets and also serves as a canopy for pendant luminaires.

In addition to control via the wall switch, there is also the option of designing the system «smart». There is a Zigbee module for this. This means you can also integrate «Linion» into smart home centres that support Zigbee.

When planning your «Linion» system, you should first select the appropriate power supply. This determines the maximum system length and wattage.

  • According to the manufacturer, the standard«Power Channel» supports a total output of up to 80 watts, while the Zigbee version can manage up to 124 watts.
  • The «Power Box» offers slightly more power reserves with 120 watts (standard) or 144 watts (Zigbee).

Installation via plug-and-play

Screw the individual channels to the ceiling or wall. The necessary connectors are included in the scope of delivery. Thanks to the integrated slotted holes, you don't have to drill to the millimetre.
And if you prefer a suspended solution in places, you can use additional accessories, such as for pendant mounting.

«ULine»: A belt system creates flexibility

The basic principle of «ULine» is quickly explained. 48 volts flow through a tear-resistant textile strap. Lights can be individually positioned on this strap: without visible cables. The power supply runs inside the strip. Thanks to the low voltage, the tape can also be touched without hesitation. The straps are available in various colours (including black, green, orange and grey). If necessary, they can also be shortened with scissors.

Start with an installation set

It's best to choose an installation kit first. This contains the necessary transformer.

One such connection point is sufficient to equip a distance of up to ten metres with lights - up to a maximum power consumption of 150 watts.

You can position the harness in the room as you wish: tightly on the ceiling, hanging loosely between two points or as a straight line on the wall.

Customise the system with lights

The special feature of the system is the «Click-and-Connect function» of the luminaires. All lights have a special connector that allows them to be simply clicked onto the belt. You can detach and reposition them at any time. According to the manufacturer, this works without tools.

The selection of lights includes various styles: pendant lights, spotlights or light bars. You can therefore customise the system to suit the room area or desired atmosphere.

Paulmann also offers other accessories, such as special brackets that also allow guidance in loops or end caps for neat finishes if you have shortened the straps.
