In Elden Ring you will find small statues called Summoning Reserves. These are collection points that you should activate. If you use the item Small Golden Statue anywhere in the game world, you agree to help at a random statue near you. Your sign will be sent to several of these places. Your presence is not required there. However, be sure to clear your multiplayer password if you are not specifically playing with friends.

Elden Ring once again offers a co-op mode for joint adventures and forays through interlands. We offer you tips on call signs, invaders, boss fights and or the group and multiplayer passwords. As soon as you start the game, you will find the first important multiplayer item, the Wrinkled Finger of the Tainted. This is used to compose messages from pre-made text blocks or gestures that can then be read in the game world of other Elden Ring players. As soon as you come to the surface in Limgrave from the Graveyard of the Stranded, you will find a small statue with an item to the left of the Place of Mercy downhill. You will find the necessary items and tools for joint exploration tours and boss fights in Elden Ring very early in the game. You leave a mark on the ground with the stained one's crooked finger. In order for your co-op partner to see the mark, they will use a Crooked Finger medicine. For this, we recommend that you buy the toolkit from the first merchant at the Church of Elleh. With it, the medicine can be made very easily from two Earth Leaf Flowers. The Earth Leaf Flowers are orange and can be found throughout the Grasslands. The game world in co-op mode is partially bordered by walls of fog, but not as much as in Dark Souls. You can therefore tackle caves, small dungeons, boss fights, but also the open world with all its dangers together. If you reach a fog gate and can't get any further, simply cross the border alone and meet up again behind it. To send a friend home, simply use the finger disconnector here. During boss fights in Elden Ring, make sure that enemies have more HP the more friends you have. As a supporter in your friends' game world, you will only have half of your healing bottles available - always rounded down. If you successfully defeat the area boss together, all surviving helpers will receive a rune bow and a share of runes as a reward. By the way, co-op friends always spawn as orange-yellow phantoms, invaders appear in red.
In the Elden Ring Wiki of fextralife.com there is a Summon Range Calculator. This contains a few formulas for the supposed calculation of level differences. At the same time it says that all restrictions for the co-op mode will be removed as soon as players use a password. The higher leveled player will then probably be scaled down. We have made the experience that Summoning does not always work even if both players use the same password. This can be due to the fact that the area boss was completed and then the co-op mode generally no longer works. There are numerous discussions on this topic in the Elden Ring Reddit. Here, for example, it is also said that once Margit and Godrick are done, summoning in the open world in Limgrave is no longer possible. You can create a multiplayer password in Elden Ring via the menu. Select the multiplayer item and then set a password. You will then only see callsigns from players with the same multiplayer password. Group passwords increase the likelihood of seeing messages, blood pools, or call signs from other players with the same password. These marks will be highlighted with a circle compared to others. Also, with group passwords enabled, you will be notified of some events in the world performed by group members via overlay. If you have both a multiplayer and group password set, the multiplayer password will take priority over the group password.

Single players in Elden Ring have an advantage: they are invaded only by NPCs - not by other players. However, once you're in co-op with friends, it's possible for other players to invade you. Invaders are thus warned that they will always encounter at least two enemies. To start an invasion, you use a Bloody Pus Finger. Similarly, in Limgrave you will find the Duelist's Crooked Finger. This leaves a red call sign at any point. Players can also actively summon you to their world for a duel to trigger a desired clash. The Little Red Statue works similarly to the Golden Statue - it sends a call sign to several nearby summoning reserves.

As an Invader in Elden Ring, you have the disadvantage of invading with the Bloody Pus Finger exclusively in worlds where at least two or even more players are active. In this case, you will always be outnumbered. Thus, as an invader, you won't be attacked by monsters or bosses. So you move to areas where the host and his friends meet resistance from the game world. You also use the Bloody Phantom Finger item (ten in your inventory per invasion). This will teleport you to a local spawn point when used. You can use this either to catch up with the host or to save yourself from a dangerous situation.
You can also buy a blue ring and a white ring from the twin maidens in the round table fortress. Both items cost 1,000 runes each. With the white ring you call for help in case of an invasion, the blue ring offers help. Supporters summoned by the blue ring appear as blue phantoms. Later on, you'll get the spotter's tongue, which you can use to call invaders into your world on your own - even several of them. So if you're up for a challenge, use the item, which also cancels the time cooldown between two invasions.
