4K monitors tested
Large screens usually come with high resolutions. It is not always easy to maintain an overview here, even for long-time users. For example, there is some confusion surrounding the ubiquitous sales argument of 4K. The fact that this technology is identical to ultra-high definition (UHD) resolution is not entirely correct. The resolution of UHD is 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, which corresponds to a total of 8,294,400 pixels and is therefore four times higher than its predecessor Full HD (FHD). The term 4K, however, comes from the world of cinema. However, many people also use it colloquially for computer monitors and televisions (including us in this article), although this is not entirely technically correct. This is because 4K (4K equals four thousand) refers to the horizontal resolution of 4,096 pixels. The number of vertically arranged pixels is 2,160 (2K). This is why the term 4K2K is sometimes used. Strictly speaking, a UHD monitor does not quite achieve the resolution of a 4K device because the number of horizontal pixels is lower.
