Test Report

Children's smartwatches tested - tracking devices on the wrist

A smartwatch for children promises parents safety thanks to a direct line to their offspring - without a smartphone. However, only three out of eight watches tested were convincing. Starting school is a big step towards independence for children. From now on, they are increasingly on their own. Children's smartwatches make the little ones accessible to their parents via the phone or messaging function. Thanks to the integrated GPS tracking, parents know where their child is at all times. Some models tested show clear shortcomings. We found harmful substances, unreliable tracking functions and one watch allowed parents to secretly take photos.
