COMPARISON TEST - 10 kettles without temperature control

Kettles are present in more than 92% of all households in the Federal Republic of Germany and are used by us time and again in a wide variety of situations - whether it is to prepare our wake-up drink in the morning as a flavourful pour over, to enjoy appealing convenience food within just a few minutes or perhaps just to quickly stir a portion of milk powder. For all this and so much more, we need hot water: and for this we ideally use a modern kettle - also for reasons of saving electricity. However, the range of functions of many currently available kettles is much richer than that of the original models, which were only ever able to heat the water they contained to a temperature of 100°C. The majority of them can now be used to heat water to a temperature of up to 100°C. This means that even sophisticated teas, such as Chinese Yin Zhen (white tea), Japanese Gyokura (green tea) or Nepalese Jun Chiyabari (oolong), can always be brewed at a temperature that fully reflects the exquisite aromas of the respective tea leaf. We had 21 different kettles in our test in the last few weeks (€min-€max: €17.95-111.57), 10 of them without the temperature control function and 11 models with the temperature control function.
