The device can only be put into operation after all of the following points have been completed. 1:
1. install the manufacturer's app on your smartphone.
2. register with the manufacturer with your name, e-mail, height and weight(!).
3. enter your WLAN password into the app.
The password is then sent to the device via Bluetooth, and only then is the device ready for measurement.
The device then transmits measurements via WLAN and Internet to the manufacturer's server. The app can only read this data by downloading it from the manufacturer's server.
The iPhone app can then be configured to also save the measurements loaded from the manufacturer's server in iHealth. When configuring this, one should not follow the manufacturer's recommendations and only allow what is necessary, because otherwise the manufacturer will also suck all other health data (from steps to sleep habits to cycle logs) via the app. Hackers on the servers might even find the WLAN password, so you should consider a guest WLAN.
If you can live with the fact that the manufacturer evaluates every measurement, the device serves its purpose. In particular, you can wear it on your upper arm for a long time and start measurements every now and then (by hand), e.g. during or after a movement.
According to the instructions, the device should be put on with the start button at the bottom (at the elbow), so that you can read the measurement on the built-in display without dislocation. However, to fasten it, one must pull the end of the cuff outward in this position. This works well for a helper, but is tedious when you put it on yourself. It is better with the knob upwards, so that the end of the cuff can be pulled towards the body with more force.
