ideal for haircutting and beard trimming....
very suitable for cutting hair and trimming beards (in 3mm increments, and only up to 18mm, but that was already clear when I bought it), does not tear, cuts perfectly.
i don't follow the cleaning instructions very closely, but so far i haven't noticed any negative effects.Pro

Addition to my Panasonic ER-1411 bought in 2012, i.e. I now have two of them.
The battery of the old machine, consisting of two AA NiMh cells, which was replaced after the new purchase, was surprisingly easy to change and cost me just CHF 7. Although it wasn't really necessary, I changed the blade at the same time.Pro

No frills but good quality trimmer
Good quality well built hair trimmer. I use it with out the adapters for a Grade 0 cut once a week. Battery lasts over a month. If you maintain it with oil supplied (mine still hasn’t run out), blades stay sharp.
Might be without gimmicks but it works. Other cheaper trimmers have fallen apart or had poor designs.Pro

Tip-top
Tip-top for beards and certainly also for hair. Lightweight and efficient trimmer.
The only difference between the 1421 and the 1411 is certainly the cutting head. The motor seems to be exactly the same.
The stainless steel shoe is indeed more gentle on the skin. I was able to test both and I recommend the stainless steel one if you are looking for a beard trimmer or for flush cuts.Pro
