Addition to my answer: The lamp can also be operated with 2 × CR123A batteries or 2 x RCR123 rechargeable batteries.

I was supplied with a Nitecore NL1823 LiIon 18650 battery with 2300mAh capacity. Other 18650 batteries with a raised positive terminal (= button-top; flat-top batteries may have (contact) problems) should also fit.
