Better than a Tormek when comes about rotation direction: this comes with the possibility to rotate both direction. Adjustable speed as well.
But this is the single point when it is better that a Tormek... but is expected... is a fraction of the Tormek price.
With a litlle bit of tweaking, adjustments and greasing it works fine.
For best results the stone have to be dressed to be perfectly paralel with the tool holder.
The water pool is not well designed... it cannot be removed when water is inside... you have to rotate to remove it and the water is on your floor... a mess. I have update it with a water grainage pipe so it can be drained and cleaned properly after use.
Do not store the machine with water inside... let the wheel to dry before to put it back on the box, it soak allot of water so it takes few days in a normal room temperature.
/!\ you have to make the "bell" test before to use ma machine... a cracked stone is dangerous even if it does not turn t0o fast. Search internet for procedure, is simple but important.
Do not let the machine with a wet stone in a place were it can frozen... like this your stone will crack for sure.

If you are prepared to grind and polish the holding device yourself to make it moveable, and if you are prepared to make some compromises with the polishing stone, you can achieve good results for home use.

The axial run-out accuracy is insufficient +- 2mm the disc wobbles back and forth while turning.

The pressure of the motor axle has left an unbalance on the drive pulley, after some time it then runs smoothly, as it can be adjusted manually. The main axle is not mounted and has a slight imbalance, but is not so bad since the whole runs relatively slowly. Otherwise it works perfectly.
