The Blumat supplies the plant with water directly over its porous clay cone, where the drying soil sucks out water. The water then rises out of the storage vessel next to it into the cone.
The prerequisite for this regulating suction operation is a lower or at least equal water level in the vessel. The low conveying capacity is designed for the consumption of houseplants.
