We have a dark red floor made of stone slabs that are textured (uneven). Roomba 980 has no problem with this. Of course, it needs enough brightness to work. If I see it correctly, it has several viewing windows on the bottom, probably to detect steps, and a kind of camera on the top to detect the room. For example, we turn on the light in a dark hallway. With this, the Roomba works flawlessly and systematically works the working area and finally also carefully works the edges. So, we are enthusiastic about the device.
