The wooden lid has plastic rings on the inside. The lid of one of my grinders does not fit on the grinder. And on the other grinder, the ring is completely cut through. Is this only a transport protection and not the "aroma seal"?

Helpful answer

It looks like you have a fault. In my case, the two transparent rubber rings in the "lid" are fully intact and to such an extent that the lid closes very well with light pressure.
