I have a Roomba S9 and a Braava Jet M6. Do both devices have to learn the Smart Map themselves or can I somehow match them?

Correct, both devices need to learn the Smart Map themselves as they create the SmartMap differently for their applications.
For example, thresholds and carpets are obstacles on the Braava Jet m6, but not on the Roomba s9.
