Has anyone had any experience of how it performs with pet hair (long top coat and dense undercoat) ? does it really work or does the hair get caught and more "game over" than vacuuming ? And can I pick it up during operation and just put it in another room to work and close the door ?

Hi Timber01 I have a white cat at home that sheds a lot of hair. The Roomba 980 sucks up all the hair and generally cleans very well. It's best to give the machine a rough clean daily or every two days. Cleaning takes less than 5 minutes. Then possibly do a basic cleaning (approx. 10-15 minutes) once a week. This way the robot always remains efficient.

You can simply move the robot to another room or close your room when you are working. Because of the sensors, it simply cleans wherever it goes. If a door is closed, it sees that as an obstacle. You also get two small containers where you can place it and tell it that it never has to clean here.
