Siemens EQ.9 s300
Coffee machine broke exactly after 2 years and 1 week. (Brewing unit) The coffee machine was hardly used only 2000 units in 2 years, in a Tadellosem condition. Fortunately, I had made the warranty extension to 3 years. Opened the warranty case at Galaxus. I had to send the coffee machine to the company Sertronics in Birmenstorf. The coffee machine was completely cleaned and made ready for packing. With a custom-made packaging I had the coffee machine properly packed and nicely covered so that it is neither scratched nor damaged during transport. On 20.01.20 the package shipped. According to the description and feedback on the portal it hiss "replacement product shipped" On 29.01.20 the coffee machine came back: Bad awakening!
- Not returned in the custom packaging
- Broken lid of the coffee container
- Completely dirty machine received (All accessories were full of coffee grounds!)
- Scratched machine!
Immediately I contacted the company Sertronics, with fright I learned that the Sertronics not even repaired, but the company BSH home appliances forwarded and you would have made the warranty. For what I have a warranty extension / certification of Sertronics AG? Sertronics tells me to go back to the post office so that I can send it back and have a damage report drawn up. So the coffee machine is back in the mail ... there is probably more kaput! such a service I pay as a customer! In addition, we are talking about a coffee machine which has cost over 1000 Fr. We will see what happens here and especially who bears the responsibility and costs? Galaxus or Sertronics ?
I have both EQ.6 s300 and EQ.9 s300 side by side and I use both the machines daily, and I would go with the EQ.6.
EQ.6 is better with its larger display, touch screen control, and external milk system.
There are visible fine-tuning options in the machine like choosing beverage volume in 10ml steps, user profiles, etc, which are not there in EQ.6 s300 or hidden behind the menus.
The espresso turns out good on this machine, but only when you change the bean grinding to finest settings. It's a bit better than EQ.6 espresso. I use this machine for foamed milk and ristretto, while I use the EQ.6 for other standard beverages.
Lack of touch control will make the machine look like something from 10 years ago.
Since the milk tank is (semi-external) it's difficult to clean the milk inlet system daily. EQ.6 cleans the milk system every day because of the use of a suction pipe, EQ.9 s300 cannot do that and the milk inlet remains dirty until the milk container is empty, and one can then run the "quick clean milk system"
The coffee bean storage is not that big and needs more frequent refills. Also the inlet for the ground coffee is inside the coffee bean hopper which is a bit problematic during insertion of the cleaning tablet or using powdered coffee.
The coffee grounds and water disposal of this machine needs emptying everyday as opposed to EQ.6 which can be done every 4 - 5 days for the same amount of usage.
The brew-group of this machine came without any lubrication. I lubricated the screw mechanism and other shafts with food-grade silicone grease.
There is a problem with the machine's firmware which causes it to hang often. Have to pull out the plug to reset it and then it starts working again.
Also another good feature is the LED lighting for the cups during dispensing to align the cups properly under the spout.
