Absolutely solid for the price. I used to grind coffee in Migros or Coop. But often there was a lot of powder left over from the previous one and the grind was unsuitable (too fine/too coarse), because I like to try out new varieties. With a 250g pack, this is rather tedious. Before I wanted to buy an expensive grinder, I looked for an intermediate solution and decided on the Rommelsbacher EKM 500. It is certainly not recommended for absolute espresso experts (see disadvantages). For me as a layman and daily coffee drinker, however, it is more than satisfactory. I hardly notice the difference in the wrong gram amount of powder or a slightly too coarse/fine grind.

After we have always ground with a hand mill, but now needed electrical support in the morning before the first coffee despite Popeye arms, we have found the perfect solution for us in the Rommelsbacher mill. We make filter coffee with a Chemex and hemp filters - there the coffee must be ground particularly fine, which the mill manages without effort. Also already tested for the Bialetti espresso with a different grind - perfect!
In the beginning, of course, you have to make a few test runs until you find the optimum grind for you, but then it grinds very reliably in consistent quality - now for about 6 weeks 1-2 times a day. What I'm a little surprised is why you need all the coarse grinding levels ... which then provide more for coffee splinters for decoration than that you could brew coffee from it. But well, our grinding pleasure plays so just in the upper third. Easy to clean. In the SpüMa we have parts but not put, because in the manual is not whether they would survive.

Once the grinding fineness has been set, the part works perfectly. Basic setting 1 of the grinder leads to complete blockage of the grinder or the powder outlet. After cleaning, I started at 15 and gradually moved down to 6. Now everything is fine for my ECM portafilter machine with rotary pump. The grinding result corresponds to that of my previous ECM Casa Automatic (CHF 850,-- non-repairable motor!)
