With the automatic dimming function, is the display so dim that it is no longer disturbing in the dark or does this still light up in the dark, so that there is a bit of light in front of the radio alarm clock display and it may be disturbing?

Of course, this varies from person to person, but I don't find the display disturbing at all in the dark, it darkens a lot, there is no halo of light in the device. In twilight, the display is even a little difficult to read (from a certain distance). The standby light on my TV (LG OLED) is much brighter in comparison.
