Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri derive the name from the Latin term for "hem, coast or edge". The latter appears in this series of accessories from Stelton sometimes more or less prominently:

Ora Wood candlestick. The shape reminds one of an apple - but evenly grown in its round. Instead of a stem, an ordinary table candle in standard size is placed in the center, which is edged with stainless steel. Turning the candlestick upside down, a tea light can be inserted into the hollowed-out base. The candlestick comes from naturally left beech wood, whose fine grain beautifully emphasizes the organic shape.
