Who designed the books wall shelf?

The Israeli designer Ron Arad is responsible for the design of this piece of furniture. The son of a painter and a photographer spent his youth in Tel Aviv and then studied in Jerusalem at the "Beezalel Academy of Art and Design". After completing his studies, Ron Arad soon began designing unconventional furniture. However, it was not until 1981 that he opened his own design studio in London together with Caroline Thorman. He caused an international sensation when, on the occasion of the tenth birthday of the Centre Georges Pompidou in the French capital Paris, he presented a machine that pressed cubes out of chairs. For the mass production of furniture Ron Arad began to work from the late 1980s.
