Is there a way to scan without a computer? E.g. to a NAS or SMB connection or via webdav or similar? Or do you have to tinker with a Raspberry Pi to be able to run a script? I would like to use the device as a document scanner after scanning old photos, but without having to use a computer.
As far as I know, the computer must be running with the appropriate software. You have to select whether the document is single or double-sided. Unfortunately, this selection is not possible directly on the device.
That's a great question and one I should have asked before I made the purchase. I saw that it has wifi capability and assumed it would therefore connect to my NAS, but unfortunately it requires a computer. At first I was bummed about my purchase, but your idea of a Raspberry Pi has given me hope again. By the way, the scanner works very well when scanning photos. For each photo that is scanned, you get three files: the photo as it is, a scan of the back of the photo (in case it recognises something worth scanning) and finally an enhanced version of the photo, dad is usually good. I have already written a Python script to sort out all the files.
