Author text
Mira Lobe was born in 1913 in Görlitz in Silesia. That she had a talent for writing was evident from her school essays. She wanted to study and become a journalist, which was denied to her as a Jew in National Socialist Germany. Therefore she learned machine knitting at the Berlin fashion school. In 1936 she fled to Palestine. There she got married with the actor Friedrich Lobe with whom she had two children. From 1950 she lived in Vienna, where she died on 6.2.1995. Mira Lobe has written almost 100 books for children and young people, for many of which she has received prizes and awards.
Flap text
A small animal walks on the colourful flower meadow. It feels related to many other animals - although it is not quite like any of them. It is not a horse, not a cow, not a bird, not a hippopotamus - and slowly it begins to doubt itself. But then the little animal realizes: I am not just anybody, I am me. (With crafting instructions)
