What is the difference to the MCR-N870DAB apart from 5 watts and over 300 francs extra cost? Are the systems otherwise identical? I need to replace my ancient stereo tower and unfortunately have little idea about audio and what would be suitable. Maybe someone can help or advise me. Would be very nice. Thank you!

The difference is in the amplifier. MCR-N870DAB also has PURE DIRECT and USB DAC.
You can download the manual from https://ch.yamaha.com and read about these functions on pages 9/10.
At the time, we decided on the MCR-N670DAB, with the network connection integrated into our LAN with NAS(our music collection). CD, internet radio, ... everything can be controlled via the app and works very well. We are super satisfied to date. Price-performance ratio for both Yamaha very good, functions and sound exceptionally good in this price range.
