Question about 4smarts Microsoft Surface Connect
Just bought the cable and realised it's only for charging. Actually wanted to use it for video transfer and charging at the same time to be able to connect my Surface Book to another docking station (none from Microsoft). Is there a clever product that allows video transfer from Surface Connect to USB-C on a docking station?
So from Surface to e.g. an external screen works well with Microsoft Surface Dock (Docking Port) and the cable Delock Mini DisplayPort - HDMI (Type A) (1 m, DisplayPort, HDMI).
Or HP 1PM64AA (USB C) works well, for example, this HP part for connecting a TV via HDMI cable. Good for on the road and above all very light
On my Surface Pro 7, the cable doesn't even work for charging; I'm therefore returning it; in my opinion, data transfer only works via a USB port, certainly not via the charging socket.
