you could "open" the slot on the mainboard -> at the back (the part that is very long on the x16) simply grind away the plastic in the middle so that the card fits in, then you simply have the card on a pcie x1 -> 1/4 of the speed via pcie... and you lose the warranty of your mb...
and @ brimstone isn't there an adapter m.2 -> pcie 4x? i thought i saw this before...
