Question about Hitachi Blu-ray/DVD±RW (SATA) BH16NS40 bare

I have installed the "Hitachi HL Data Storage BH16NS40 internal", inserted a CD and listened to music... so it works! But when I want to burn something onto a CD-R or BD-R disc, Windows and CyberLink Power2Go go on strike. After a few seconds, a message appears telling me to update the driver or firmware. Unfortunately, I have not found another driver like the one from Windows (10.0.19041.3636) and the firmware is the latest (1.05) according to Hitachi. Does anyone have a tip? Does Windows 10 perhaps only recognise my Blu-ray burner as a normal player?

According to the manufacturer, it should be able to burn CD-Rs. It may help to reinstall the drivers and firmware. The following link is helpful here Manufacturer support page Otherwise I don't know what is missing or what is on strike. In such a case, I also recommend asking the question in the Community, as the chances are greater there than here as an individual question. Otherwise, if anyone can share an answer or experience, please feel free.

Addendum: if I select to use it like a USB memory stick when inserting a new data carrier (CD-R), I can copy data to the CD aka burn it... but as soon as I select "With a CD/DVD player", nothing works. No copying, no burning of data, nothing!
