I have a seemingly uncontrollable problem: Sometimes, without my knowingly doing anything, the pen repositions itself so that it is recognised too early on the screen. This causes my writing to become all smudged as the pen continues to write while I set it down.

Yes, I also had this problem quite a lot with my pen. It was very confusing and especially annoying. BUT the problem went away immediately after I charged the pen. I think this "smearing" is simply a sign that the pen has a low battery.
Hopefully everything else is ok :)
