Hello, I recently had a problem with my receiver. After a few minutes, I can no longer adjust the volume. What I have read on forums so far sounds like programmed death to me (so absolute no-go). Apparently Marantz has informed me that this is due to the power supply and that this part is no longer available, i.e. irreparable. How can it be that the receiver is still being sold here? Does Digitec have a repair service or have you ever heard of this problem? The problem is really annoying, and being able to control the volume is one of the main features of such a device... Here's a link to a recent post that describes the problem and shows that I'm not the only one (I thought it was due to an update or something): https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/volume-problem-with-marantz-m-cr612.1010848/
I had a very similar problem. My device was sent by a specialist dealer to a Marantz repair company on Lake Constance (Arbon?) and repaired quickly and cheaply.
Maybe digitec can also do this?
I don't have any problems myself. But according to the forum you indicated, some customers seem to have this problem, for which there seems to be no solution so far. I think that's pretty bad; Marantz is not a cheap brand.
I would definitely contact the Marantz representative in Switzerland. Maybe they still have a power supply unit in stock.
I assume you have also tried to adjust the volume on the unit itself. It sounds like the power supply is getting too warm. Have you ever disconnected the power completely (unplugged)? Is the unit getting enough air? You can try setting up a small fan next to it that blows into the ventilation slots to find out if it lasts longer until you can no longer regulate the volume. Otherwise, the only thing left to do is open the unit and blow out the dust. I have had mine for 2 years and am very satisfied.
No problems.
No problems, but would choose the stronger one now.
