AVM FRITZ!Box 7590 (A/CH Version)
Hello I have just bought this actually great router, as I have the AVM Fritz! Repeater 2400 on the second floor (attic room = home office) BUT I found out that the Connect Box from UPC has a "stronger" WLAN signal than the Fritz!Box. Disappointing to buy a better device for 200.-, but it has a weaker signal. I wanted to use the MESH functionality to improve the coverage at the top :-( Can anyone confirm this fact: UPC signal (2.4 & 5 GHz) slightly better than FB 7590? Thanks
I bought the Fritz!Box to replace the Giga ConnectBox.
But I can't, because the access data from UPC is not fixed.
Now the box runs in modem mode and no longer offers (additional) WLAN.
This means that all users in the network can be administered centrally via the Fritz!Box.
Hello
I bought the AVR 7590 some time ago because the Giga Connect Box from UPC that I had used before was terrible and only caused me trouble. The absolutely scandalously bad firmware of the Giga Connect Box only worked after replacing the Giga Box 3 times. I now use this in bridge mode together with the AVR 7590.
The functionality of the AVR 7590 is - in stark contrast to the Giga Connect Box - sensationally good and works very stably.
The WiFi coverage of the AVR 7590 is - compared to the Giga Box - supposedly lower than that of the Giga Connect Box.
However, according to my tests, this is mainly due to the fact that the permanently integrated antennas in the housing of the AVR 7590 are not optimally aligned in many cases if you simply place the router somewhere.
The Giga Box has a (small) advantage in that the internal antennas can take up more space and have a "raised geometry". In the AVM Fritz! 7590, on the other hand, the antennas are very cramped and "flat" in the housing, which is not conducive to optimal radiation of the WiFi signals.
Therefore, try standing the AVR 7590 upright or mounting it on the wall. This changes the polarisation of the WiFi radiation, which can double the range (especially in the vertical axis of the building).
Just try it out !
Greetings to all AVR 7590 users and fans (I am definitely one)
That's right. The UPC Connect Box burns a hole in every aluminium hat.
