I have just purchased a WD My Cloud Home Duo. The email says that only the desktop app will no longer be available. Web browsers or directly via the network explorer should continue to work - I have always used the WD My Cloud Home Duo only via the network explorer - so no restrictions on this side are to be expected.

We are writing to inform you that as of June 2023, we will no longer be providing feature updates, security updates and support for My Cloud Home devices on the WD Discovery desktop app. At that time, local drive provisioning for your My Cloud Home™ device will also no longer be available through the WD Discovery™ desktop app.
If you use the desktop app to access the files stored on your My Cloud Home device, you will soon need to use one of the following access methods:
Mobile app (iOS/Android)
Web browser using the Web App for remote access.
Local access: Network Explorer (Windows) or Finder (macOS). Learn more.

I am asking myself the same question. I have been using the WD My Cloud Home Duo for 6 months now. It's a great device and I need it daily.
If the WD Discovery desktop app support and function is discontinued, my WD My Cloud Home Duo would probably just be computer junk.
