Elgato Cam Link 4K
Mac, PC
Good day to all, I bought the Elgato Cam Link 4k from you a week ago and connected it to my Sony FDR AX 53 camcorder with the correct cable (1 side blue USB 3.0 plug, other side micro USB fitting into the output of the camera. I want to stream the camera recording directly to the PC. The Cam Link is of course also connected to the PC at the blue USB 3.0 socket. I use the Elgato Capture software to transfer the image from the camera to the PC, but nothing happens except the message "The connection to the camcorder is not allowed". What else can I do to get this thing to work? Thanks and greetings, Fredy
In addition to the Elgato Cam Link, I also bought the product Logilink USB 2.0 Videograbber at Digitec today, hoping that at least one of the two videograbbers would work, but no: bad luck again, with both products I always get the message that access to the camera is denied. In Kaspersky, despite a lot of searching, I can't find the place where I can lift this restriction.
Can anyone help me?
Many thanks and Happy Easter
Greetings, Fredy
In my case, the Cam Link has USB on one side (this part goes to the PC) and HDMI on the other side, which is connected to the cam. For the whole thing to work, the camera needs a so-called "clean hdmi signal". Please google this term if necessary. The Sony cam in question should be able to do this. I also practised for a long time until it worked. With my Panasonic, the camera setting "external diplay OFF" was then necessary for it to work. (Found on Youtube). Advantageously, it is NOT streamed via the Elgato Cam Link software but directly via the Windows camera app. Good luck, greetings Beat
I would like to add that in the device manager under cameras the note CAM LINK 4 K appears, which means that the Elgato device is in contact with the PC, but perhaps not the camera that is connected to the Elgato.
Greetings Fredy
