Hmm, so if I had a dog that was probably waist-high but as skinny as a bean and far under 25 kilograms, it would probably "recognise" it - or sound the alarm... Recognition as a pet is probably rather difficult with such sensors, a camera with logic behind it would have to be able to do that rather than an infrared sensor that is simply looking for movements...
