Does the choice USB-A or USB-C refer only to the plug of the dongle or also to the charging socket on the headphones? What kind of cable is needed to charge the battery in both cases?

The selection refers to the dongle. The charging socket of the headphones is of the USB-C type.

Based on a Jabra headset with cable I bought for work, it only refers to the plug of the dongle.
The headset will hardly have a USB-A port for charging, I haven't seen that on any device so far :-)
It doesn't make much sense :-)
