Question about Huawei 5G CPE PRO 2

Does anyone know what the long-term strategy of Swisscom and CO. is? With the cheaply available second SIM cards, it is already worthwhile for most city dwellers to buy such a device (the device is amortised after one to two years compared to the subscription costs of a network provider). Does it matter to Swisscom whether people are connected to the 5G antennas or to the cables? The prices of network providers have already fallen, but can the issue simply be left to the free market economy?

Hello

In the long term, Swisscom will proceed with XGSPON and less with 5G. There are still too many problems with the expansion at the moment. GF, on the other hand, is already further along. It is also the case that streams for a TV box are currently not technically stable and do not meet the requirements. Therefore, it will be a very long time before you can watch TV via pure 5G or higher. The other thing is the capacity of the sites, if too many are logged in, the antenna automatically reduces the power, those with multi-device are not as high in priority as connections with an internet booster. Swisscom recognises this. This means that the 5G applications that are not coupled with DSL are throttled first until sometimes nothing arrives. In some cases, the more people there are on an antenna, the more unstable the coverage. You see, Swisscom has to maintain the basic service, which does not mean 5G connections. These are the last priority, so anyone who is with such a provider will very quickly be left out in the cold. As a Swisscom partner, we know that since Corona, more and more people are switching to DSL because of this.

Kind regards Marc.

So what do you mean with the second sim cards? If you use the Multi Device Option, it doesn't matter to Swisscom how much you use! According to Swisscom you are only allowed to use this router with this option! See the fair use policy of Swisscom!
