Behind the front grille there are 44 precisely arranged and aligned loudspeakers. In order to achieve exact sound radiation for the 7 channels (front left/right, center, surround left/right, ceiling left/right), each loudspeaker is driven by its own amplifier circuit with individual delay time. The sound is bundled at precisely calculated angles and directed onto walls and ceiling, from where it is reflected back to the listening position. The result is the same sound as with loudspeakers on walls and ceiling - not virtual, but real 3D surround sound. When playing back 7.1.2 audio tracks using the new Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio formats, the sound of the surround back channels is reflected over the walls instead of the surround channels, and the YSP-5600 then additionally generates virtual surround channels.

For the reproduction of current surround sound formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, the tuning of the ceiling channels in relation to the listening position is of decisive importance, in particular to ensure optimum spatiality of the sound. With the YSP-5600, the beam angle for the ceiling directed channels can be adjusted manually or automatically to perfectly match the listening position. Even if the listening position changes relative to the screen, you can still enjoy authentic 3D surround sound to the full.
