The 150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD (model A057) not only delivers high image quality, but also offers a high level of operating comfort. Despite its impressive 500mm focal length, it is very comfortable to handle at just 209.6mm in length and a maximum of 93mm in diameter. As the first Tamron lens for full-frame cameras with Sony E mount, it is equipped with a VC image stabiliser, which enables sharp ultra-telephoto shots to be taken freehand. The optical construction comprises 25 elements in 16 groups, including several special glass elements and hybrid aspheres for correcting optical aberrations. The BBAR-G2 lens coating minimises reflections inside the lens and suppresses ghosting and flare, which are particularly common in backlit shots. At a focal length of 150mm, the closest focusing distance is 0.6 metres, making the lens suitable for impressive close-ups.
