This is the story of Clive Rosfield, a warrior appointed as the "First Shield of Rosaria," who swore to protect his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix. It does not take long for Clive to find himself at the centre of a tragedy and to vow revenge against the dark Esper Ifrit, a mysterious being that leaves nothing but destruction in its wake.
