Sony SRS-XB33
24 h, Rechargeable battery operatedProduct details
Enjoy a deeper, richer sound wherever you want with your Extra Bass speaker. The passive radiators work with two full range speakers, optimising low frequencies and delivering rich bass. With its distinctive design and long battery life, the SRS-XB33 will never let you down. The SRS-XB33 is so rugged that you can get the party going anytime, anywhere. Sony's proprietary X-Balanced Speaker Unit delivers high sound quality and powerful sound pressure levels for a rich, intense and comfortable listening experience. Unlike a conventional speaker unit, the membrane of the new X-Balanced Speaker Unit in the XB33 is not round. The non-round shape maximizes the area of the diaphragm and increases the sound pressure level for more intense bass. The excursion is reduced while maintaining sound pressure levels. This results in less distortion. The innovative design and optimised weight balance also provide a clearer sound and a wider sound spectrum. The light but robust speaker cone is made of MICA-reinforced cellulose (MRC) and, together with the dust cap, makes a significant contribution to the sound quality. The arrangement of the passive radiators on the sides has been optimised to achieve a clear bass response. Press the "LIVE SOUND" button and experience music in a completely new way. The unique three-dimensional sound experience turns every party into a festival. No atmosphere without the right party lighting. The SRS-XB33 features speaker lighting and multi-coloured light strips that pulsate to the beat of the music. You can even change the colour of the light bar to suit your mood. Have more fun with Party Connect: Connect up to 100 compatible wireless speakers via bluetooth and they all dance to the same beat. Set a color pattern or have the lights light up in a circle. Whether it's a conference call or a conversation with friends: With the speakerphone, you can talk hands-free in comfort.

In May 2021, we have included ?15 new Bluetooth speakers in the big speaker comparison of Stiftung Warentest. Among them are lightweights like the tiny ?JBL Clip 4, middleweights like the ?Marshall Emberton and heavyweights like the ?Dockin D Fine+2. Especially in the middleweight class, the price range is enormous: It reaches from far below 100 euros for the ?Anker Soundcore 3 to well over 200 euros...

Sony has worked on the right corners here and developed a solid, loud, beautiful Bluetooth speaker whose purchase should definitely be worth considering. We can't find any weaknesses worth mentioning.
