Sony OLED KD65A8
65", OLED, 4K, 2020Product details
See lifelike colours and discover details in deep blacks and bright peaks in brightness. Pixel Contrast Booster improves color and contrast in bright areas, so you can see scenes with natural shades and nuances, more depth, fine textures, and the rich black contrast only OLEDs can deliver.
Beautiful colours from every angle. From now on, television is just as impressive from the side as from the front. This self-luminous OLED screen ensures colour consistency and fidelity no matter where you watch TV.
Smooth images without loss of brightness even in action-packed scenes. With OLED, millions of separately controlled pixels ensure sharp and clear images. And with X-Motion Clarity technology, even fast action scenes run smoothly and clearly on the screen. These scenes are precisely controlled to avoid blurring and ensure that images remain as real as possible by not losing brightness even in fast-paced scenes.
Super Bit Mapping HDR. The light of a sunset has thousands of colors, shades and gradations. Super Bit Mapping HDR reproduces them all. It produces a smooth, natural looking 4K picture when played back, without the "streaking" that is possible with other TVs.
Object-based HDR Remaster. Unlike most other TVs, where contrast is adjusted using only a black to white contrast curve, Object-based HDR Remaster analyzes the colors in individual objects on the screen and adjusts the contrast. Because objects are reworked individually, this TV can produce more colour depth, textures and more realistic images.
Dual database processing. A database ensures a clearer picture on the screen by suppressing noise. The other one is used to optimize the resolution and thus create more clarity. These two powerful image optimization databases perform dynamic pixel optimization in real-time.
Sound from the centre of the screen - incredibly intoxicating. With conventional TVs with speakers under the screen, sound and picture are often out of sync. With Acoustic Surface Audio, the screen is also the speaker. An innovative actuator behind the screen gently vibrates to create sound not sideways but where the action is on the screen - whether it's actors' dialogue or the sound of a car engine.

When it comes to picture quality, the four OLED TVs don't give each other anything; it's consistently breathtaking with brilliant, natural colours and perfect contrast. In terms of sound, Sony came out on top in the test, closely followed by LG. However, with its extensive and yet easily manageable features, only the LG cleared the hurdle to "very good" in the overall rating - making it the super trump...

All the units in this test are thoroughly recommendable. Each has specialities in one area. Yet each model is almost a universal genius, created by the competitive pressure of the TV brands. In principle, they all use identical OLED panels, but they all have their own individual touches when it comes to control and, above all, comprehensive features...
