The E 35mm f/1.8 OSS lens from Sony offers a "normal length" of 52.5mm for APS-C e-mount cameras and is a versatile and lightweight option suitable for a variety of shooting scenarios. It offers a fast f/1.8 maximum aperture for working in low light conditions and producing images with shallow depth of field. Equipped with an extremely low dispersion element and two aspherical elements, the images have an absolute minimum of aberrations. It also features built-in optical SteadyShot image stabilisation to reduce camera shake and produce sharper images, and uses an internal focusing mechanism for fast, responsive focusing up to 11.8". It also has a seven-leaf round diaphragm for a smooth bokeh.

das Handling des Objektivs gestaltet sich als sehr leicht und angenehm. Zudem ist es recht leicht und somit sind auch längere Fototouren ohne Probleme möglich. Auch der Autofokus und der Bildstabilisator arbeitet zuverlässig und flott. Allerdings sind Verzeichnungen und Vignettierungen bei Offenblende das eine oder andere Mal schon ein Problem.
