For greater creative control, quickly revert from autofocus to manual focus just by turning the manual focus ring of the lens.

Insgesamt bietet das Modell gute Leistungen und auch an der Verarbeitung gibt es nichts auszusetzen. dabei sind Verzeichnungs- und Vignettierungswerte zwar nicht perfekt aber dennoch noch akzeptabel. Abblenden geht dann aber auf Koten einer schwächeren Bildmitte, wobei der AF sowohl schnell als auch leise arbeitet.

Das Sony SAL 3.5-5.6/18-135 mm SAM punktet im Test mit hoher Auflösung und äußerst treffsicherem Autofokus. Das Reisezoom für APS-C-Kameras kämpft allerdings mit leichten Farbsäumen. Dennoch kann sich das Sony SAL 3.5-5.6/18-135 mm SAM sowohl als Test-, als auch als Preis-Leistungs-Sieger behaupten.
Der eingebaute Autofokus arbeitet sehr leise und schnell und auch die hohe Auflösung fällt im Test gut auf. Weiterhin überzeugt das Gerät mit der prallen Austattung und der guten Bildqualität. Leider sind die Aufnahmen in den Bildecken recht unscharf.
