The Sonos Play:1 may be quite small, but it is truly impressive. It features two perfectly tuned Class D amplifiers, a 3.5" midrange driver for warm and accurate reproduction of mid and low frequencies, and a tweeter for precise high-frequency playback. In terms of size and quality, the Play:1 has no competition. Protected against moisture, it is ideal for wet rooms, and the new Play/Pause button replaces the mute function. The tripod thread allows for easy wall mounting and is also suitable for combination with the Playbar and subwoofer. The Play:1 can be configured as a stereo pair and easily integrated into existing Sonos setups. It enables playback of your music directly from iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch (from iOS 6) and supports internet radio as well as streaming from MP3 and WMA. Additionally, it supports playlists from Rhapsody, iTunes, WinAmp, Windows Media Player, and MusicMatch.

Der Play:1 ist zwar kein Klangwunder aber dafür stimmt hier der Gesamteindruck von Lautstärke sowie Klangbild. Dabei unterstützt der Lautsprecher auch zahlreiche Formate, wobei hier keinerlei Experimente gemacht werden und man sich auf bewährte Musikdaten konzentriert.
