- Good picture with vivid colours
- Best for streaming
- Small perspective
- No headphone output
The CU8079 is much rarer to find on the market than the entry-level CU7179 model, but it's worth looking for: its picture is brighter and its colours are better, but it costs about the same. Typical for Samsung are the very good streaming features and easy handling with the mini remote control.
- Favourable price
- Large selection of streaming apps
- Good picture for standard content
- HDR peak brightness too low
- No timeshift, no USB recording
The CU8079 is certainly not a top model among televisions, but it is a recommendation for anyone looking for value for money. The LED TV impresses with very decent TV and streaming images from channels, media libraries and streaming services. However, it has technical limitations when it comes to HDR content, as it does not shine much brighter than standard material, even with HDR video...
Many criteria can play a role when buying a new television: Size, picture quality, sound or network functions, for example. However, the price often comes first. The good news is that good TVs are already available for around 450 euros.
